Michael Carson deployed to Mosul in 2006 with the U.S. Army and now teaches community college in Baytown, Texas. He writes essays and poetry and edits the Wrath-Bearing Tree, a literary journal that publishes art about military service, violence, trauma, and resulting mental and emotional health challenges.
